Similarities

The movie summer of the monkeys and the book do not have a lot of similarities but here are some. Rowdy is in the movie. the There is a ring of magic. also the monkeys become drunk. Jay wants to buy a pony. Yet he gives his money to daisy to fix her leg.There is a storm and daisy's leg hurts.  Grandpa has a store. Jay goes to the library and meets a pretty girl.

 

Differences

The move is not at all like the book. There is a kid named toby searching for the monkeys too. Rowdy is not a bluetick and the horse is not a paint. daisy doesn't have a crutch The monkeys live in Mr. Hatcher's still. Mr hatcher gets caught in a trap and he dies in the storm. The bait is a fake monkey doll named patches. There are five monkeys not thirty . Jay is portrayed as a liar and thief also grandpa is not in the story as much. Jay does not want a gun. There is an angel ring not a fairy ring. In the “Angel Ring” daisy is the only one to make a wish.

 

Review

I suggest for the movie to make the dog a bluetick and the pony a paint mare. Also have the grandpa more involved in the story. When they go to town they should meet patty and in the store when buying coconuts for the traps. Jay should not be portrayed as a thief and lierer. Have jay want a gun and a pony and get rid of toby. Make the monkeys almost get caught at least four times and the storm shouldn't be so bad.
